Objective

On completion of the course the student can manage control mechanisms at different stages of the construction project.
The student knows different building types and building components.
The student is familiar with the demands set for the built environment and can identify what is a good way of building.
The student can analyse the built environment and is able to use relevant information sources to find information about construction.
The student can observe inside and outside stresses on the structure caused by weather conditions and different activities.
The student has a general understanding of the most common building materials and product categories, the way they are manufactured, their characteristics and their suitability in different circumstances. Moreover, the student is aware of health and environmental considerations related to different materials.
The student can interpret typical drawings and understands how different structural solutions influence the penetration plans for HVAC systems.
The student is familiar with the essentials of building construction and understands what limitations and requirements different structural solutions set for the installation of building services systems.
