Objective

Students are able to describe the key processes of embryology until the end of the organogenesis stage. They can explain the principles and processes of the development of the human body. Based on their physiological knowledge on this development, students are able to perceive functional connections and their effects on the human body. They know how to apply this knowledge to their treatment practices independently.
Developmental psychology:
After the study unit, students understand the human development as a holistic, individual process also consisting of different areas. They recognise different phases of life, developmental targets and possible developmental delays. Students know how to assess the significance of crises or abnormal development to client’s holistic situation by means of various psychological human images.
Obstetrics and gynaecology:
Students are familiar with the abnormalities and dysfunctions of the structure and function of the pelvic area. They identify and define the most common disorders related to the menstrual cycle, gynaecological diseases, pregnancy, labour and menopause as well as their treatment practices. Based on their gynaecological competence, students identify functional relations and are able to apply this knowledge to their treatment practices independently. They recognise the changes brought about by pregnancy and birth to the body and their impact on it.
Gerontology and geriatrics:
Students are familiar with the changes in the human body related to ageing, identify major illnesses and know how to describe their prevention and options for care.
