Objective
Students know how to analyse human functioning in everyday activities. After completing the study unit, they are able to describe factors affecting balance. The study unit provides students with the ability to understand optimal movement models of the musculoskeletal system in basic movement.
Students can describe kinesiology and biomechanics by applying balance control and movement.
Students can describe osteopathic techniques biomechanically as well as use and interpret biomechanical equipment for the gait analysis.
Prevention and treatment of sports injuries:
Students are familiar with the most common sports injuries and their treatment options both conservatively and surgically. They are able to administer first aid for sports injuries. Students understand the significance of preventing injuries.
Content
Sitting, standing, getting up, walking, running, kicking, throwing, lifting, carrying, speaking, eating, respiration, static work with muscles and centre of gravity. Biomechanical gait analysis.
Prevention and treatment of sports injuries:
Prevention of sports injuries, types of injuries, treatment of sports injuries, basics of rehabilitation of sports injuries, sports injuries in different body parts, sports injuries typical of different types of sports. Taping.
