Objective

The students will acquire the necessary written and oral language skills for their professional field in the second national language, as required by national legislation (352/2003 8§). Students will be able to communicate in Swedish in their own professional contexts, with oral and written language and communication skills that are at least B1 level according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). They will learn to find information related to their own professional field and communicate it in Swedish.

Content

Terminology of Elderly care, both oral and written exercises. Themes include: education and career planning, elderly care organisations, work related environments, tasks, processes and tools. Increasing and activating the knowledge of technical terminology. Key interactive communication situations in elderly care: individual and group communication.

Qualifications

Successful acquisition of professional language and communication skills in the second national language (Swedish) requires a prior CEFR level of B1.1.
