Clinical practice includes learning laboratory and simulation studies 2.5 ects

Professional literature given during theory studies
Teaching methods
Simulations and laborations (2,5cr) at the school before clinical practise.
Practise in acute environment chosen by the student (Accident and emergency units, Intensive and High dependency care units, perioperative units). Pediatric A&E and ICU not suitable for this practise but pediatric perioperative units accepted.

Guided Clinical practise in chosen environment.
Student workload
Practise 12,5 credits and 8 weeks = 320 hours. During practise work-place rules are being obeyed.
Practical assignment (Research club) task given during theoretical studies, not calculated in practise hours.
Content scheduling
Practise in Autumn 2019. Recommendation is that practise is completed during the weeks 43-50. If student will qualify in December, practise needs to be done before qualification date. In that case practise will be marked as done beforehand if practise is going as expected.
Further information
Practise is 15cr, laborations and simulations (2,5cr) including. Deepening practise is not recommended to "Ahot" but according to "Tutkintosääntö" its possible. Student may "ahot" the whole 15cr ( 405 hours of nursing work in suitable environment) or just the 8 weeks practise (12,5cr= 338 hours of nursing in suitable environment).
