Objective

Students
- describe the structures, functions and disorders of the human defence system
- explain the antigen-antibody reaction and describe its significance to clinical diagnostics
- carry out the most common immunoassay tests and explain their pre-analytical requirements and clinical significance as well as the principles of the methods that they use, while also assessing the reliability of results

Human immune system, acquired and cell-mediated immunity and disease diagnostics; antigen-antibody reaction and its use in clinical diagnostics; monoclonal and polyclonal antibodies and their preparation; pre-analytics of the most common immunoassay tests and principles of methods
