Objective

Students
- can evaluate the care needs of a patient suffering from national diseases as well as plan, implement and evaluate client-oriented nursing using evidence-based knowledge
- can evaluate the care needs of a patient suffering from national diseases by means of appropriate clinical and physiological evaluations and instruments as well as respond to them with assistive methods of nursing
- can support the resources of patients and their significant others considering their cultural background
- understand the significance of close multiprofessional cooperation and care path for the client-oriented care of the chronically ill.

1.Nursing of Chronically Ill Patients
Content:
Patients with cardiovascular problems theory + laboratory teaching (ECG + monitoring + in-hospital resuscitation. Kidney and liver diseases. Respiratory disorders theory (including PEF). Patients with diabetes theory + laboratory teaching. Patients with infectious diseases / patients generally unwell theory + laboratory teaching (isolation/universal precautions). Nursing documentation.
OBS: DOSAGE CALCULATIONS RELATED TO THIS STUDY UNIT AND LABORATORY TEACHING (PRECLINICALS) MUST BE PASSED BEFORE ATTENDING THE EQUIVALENT CLINICAL PRACTICE. Active participation in theory web-lectures and in laboratory teaching is required.
IN ADDITION, GOOD COMMAND OF FINNISH LANGUAGE IS REQUIRED IN ORDER TO PARTICIPATE THE CLINICAL PRACTICE RELATED TO THIS STUDY UNIT.
2.Internal medicine
Content:
Cardiovascular disorders, cerebrovascular and neurological disorders, respiratory disorders, metabolic and endocrine disorders, infectious diseases, gastroenterological disorders, rheumatic disorders.

1. Nursing of Chronically Ill Patients homeexam. (0-5)
2. Internal medicine: Netbased exam (assessment Pass/Fail). Exam is failed if you get less than 85% of maximum points.
3. Medical calculation (assessment Pass/Fail)
