Objective

Students will become familiar with basic human anatomy and physiology. They will learn the central theories and models of biological ageing as well as the changes caused by normal physical ageing in human physiology. Students will be able to assess the impact of these changes on elderly people’s functional capacity.

Content

Essential human anatomy and physiology: musculoskeletal system, cardiovascular system, respiratory system, digestive system, urinary system and fluid balance, the senses, nervous system, and hormonal regulation. Natural changes related to ageing in different organs and their impact on human functioning.
