Objective

Students can describe the function of nerve cells. They are able to explain the main elements of the structure and function of the central nervous system. Students know how to explain the basics of regulation of motor function linking it with the human mobility and functional ability. They are able to explain the main structural elements of the autonomic nervous system and its effects on the human body. Students master the main elements of the structure and function of the peripheral nervous system and its effects on the human body. They are familiar with the foreign terminology related to central structures.
Students are familiar with the risk factors, development and natural progression of the most common respiratory, cardiovascular and metabolic diseases. They become familiar with the examination and treatment protocols used in internal medicine. Students are aware of the challenges related to internal medicine in physiotherapy.
Students understand the significance of medication in physiotherapy. They are familiar with the most common medicines used in Finland regarding their indications for use, effec mechanisms and the most common side effects. Students know the basic concepts of medication and ways to administer medicines as well as know how to implement medication safely in the care of different patient groups.

Further information

Keskiviikkoisin tarvittaessa klo 15.45 luokassa 233 on ns. anatomiakioski, jossa saa itsenäisen opiskelun tehtäviä tehdä ja malleja tutkiskella opettajan ja mahdollisesti opiskelijatutorin ohjauksessa opiskelijalähtöisesti. Kioskiin ilmoittaudutaan sähköpostilla Pirkko-Leenalle viimeistään edeltävänä maanantaina.
-
Erityisen tuen päätökset: Mikäli opiskelijalla on erityisen tuen päätös, joka vaikuttaa opintojakson suorittamiseen, tulee opiskelijan olla yhteydessä opintojaksototeutuksen vastuuopettajaan heti ilmoittautumisajan päätyttyä.
