Objective

Students familiarize themselves with orthotic needs regarding the most common illnesses and deficiencies. Students describe the use of long lower limb orthoses and justify their choice. Students become competent in individual measurements and manage the fabrication process of long lower limb orthoses under supervision. Students learn to fit the product and give instructions on its use. Students compare the functional starting point with the end-product from professional viewpoints.

•Most common illnesses and deficiencies creating needs for orthoses.
•Long lower limb orthoses.
•Models, structure and most common components and factors affecting their choice.
•Assessment and measurement.
•Fabrication process and techniques, fitting, evaluation and instructions on use.

Moodle + online luennot sekä syksyn laboraatiot Myllypurossa.

Tutkimuksen ja artikkelit. Komponenttien valmistajien ohjeet ja katalogit yms.

Teaching methods

Keväällä 2020 5op suorittava ryhmä tekee kirjallisesti verkko toteutuksena koko opintojakson.
Keväällä 2020 3 op ja syksyllä 2020 2op suorittava ryhmä tekee 3op verkko toteutuksena ja 2op käytännön laboraatioina syksyllä 2020.
