Objective

The student
- understands international and national competence requirements of advanced clinical practice in palliative care and evaluates them critically in diverse environments.
- recognizes the strengths and development needs of his/her expertise and advanced clinical competencies in palliative care and, based on these, creates a personal development and learning plan.
- evaluates critically and based on evidence changes in palliative care and services and their significance for his/her own and his/her work community’s competencies and development.
- is committed to the continuous development of his/her own expertise, learning together and sharing expertise in multidisciplinary networks.
- understands the philosophical and ethical foundations of palliative care in clinical decision-making in palliative care and promotes their realization in practice.

- Roles of advanced nursing practice in health care, advanced nursing practice in palliative care, competence development and continuous learning
- Evaluation of expertise and competencies in palliative care – starting point and development objectives
- International and national guidelines and recommendations on palliative care and competencies in palliative care
-The philosophical and ethical foundations of palliative care in clinical decision-making in palliative care
- International and national trends and challenges in palliative care and their connections to the future competencies

1. Student self-evaluation, Webropol survey. SWOT of own expertise and skills, development plan and 2 min. elevator speech; students getting to know other students' elevator talk behind the idea of networking

1. Responding to a survey is an approved exercise. Elevator talk link in the forum and available to all = approved completed

2. Personal Study Plan made and approved in accordance with college practices

3. Assignment returned, written instructions followed, no indication of violation of good scientific practice.

4. The student demonstrates the expertise of palliative care by participating in expert level discussions

Further information

Recognition of prior learning

The student can apply for the recognition of prior learning and receive an approval for accreditation
for this course if he/she has acted in a key role in digitalisation-related service production or client
projects in social and health care, or in digitalising key processes, and/or has completed universitylevel
studies that correspond to the content of this course.
