Objective
The student understands the essential concepts of AI and the principles of algorithmic thinking. The student can critically evaluate the reporting and discussions around AI. Students are able to assess the possibilities and challenges that AI brings to finance. Student can compare, how different AI applications apply to their own working field. Students are able to apply the information related to AI to develop their own working field. Students are able to consider ethical issues related to the use of AI.
Content
Part I: Elements of Artificial Intelligence free online course 2 ECTS
- basics of AI and examples of the AI usage
- AI problem solving
- real world AI applications
- machine learning and neural networks
- implications of AI
Part II: (3 ECTS) Use of AI in finance and deepening student’s AI competence
Student independently performs a systematic literature review to find out
- how AI is used finance
- what kind of ethical issues are related to the use of AI
- how information may be critically applied

Part I: Elements of Artificial Intelligence free online course 2 ECTS
This online course (2 ECTS) is the first part of a 5 ECTS course. This course must be passed first; only there after the 3 ECTS course may be started.

Part II: (3 ECTS) Use of AI in finance and deepening student’s AI competence

- 2. Seminar (Thursday 25.4.2019 at 17-20): Presentations on Assignment 1, Brainstorming for Group Task.
- 3. Seminar (Thursday 16.5.2019 at 17-20): Presentation of the group work results
