Objective

The student is able to identify different stages of a purchasing process. S/he knows the roles of different players in the purchasing process and understands different ways of organizing the procurement function.
The student is familiar with different sourcing strategies and the related selection of suppliers. S/he is able to manage supplier relationships.
The student is familiar with agreements related to procurement and s/he is able to manage those documents. S/he knows how to ensure the quality of purchased materials and services.
The student is familiar with the SWOT analysis and the portfolio analysis. S/he knows how procurement can be categorized and understands the usability of categorization in planning. The student is familiar with efficiency measurement methods. S/he understands the outsourcing process.
The student is able to identify factors influencing competitiveness of a supply chain. S/he knows how to use IT in procurement and how to do a risk survey and a gap analysis for identifying development needs.
