Objective

The student learns the event producer’s basics of the business mathematics. The student masters the use of spreadsheet programs, basic calculations as well as event-based budgeting. The student learns computational way to work as a part of the producer’s work. The course provides the capability to event production’s financial management.

The student is able to use a spreadsheet program as a producer’s necessary basic financial tool. He/she knows the basic principles of drawing up a budget and knows how to make a budget to a cultural event.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

The student is able to use a wide range of spreadsheet program’s features as a producer’s basic financial tool. The student is able to apply a spreadsheet program’s features in his/her work. He/she knows the principles of drawing up a budget and is able to make a budget to a cultural event by using appropriate sources. The student is able to evaluate the event budget planning and to identify the potential risks.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

The student is able to use fluently the spreadsheet program as a producer’s necessary basic financial tool. The student is able to apply a spreadsheet program’s features in his/her work appropriately and diversely. He/she can the budget planning and is able to make a reasoned and specific budget for the cultural event by using appropriate sources. The student is able to critically evaluate the event budget planning and to take into account the potential risk factors when drawing up the budget and when evaluating.
