Objective

After completing this course, the students are familiar with their physical and social study environments. The Students know the key guidelines, rules and study practices of Helsinki Metropolia University of Applied Sciences.
The students are familiar with the structure of the curriculum and know how they can plan their studies and the how their studies progress.
The students recognize their strengths and developmental needs and know how to develop their learning and studying skills.
The students are familiar with the student services as well as the key information systems of Metropolia.
The students are familiar with their career opportunities and know how they can improve their competence in international affairs.
Upon completion, the students will be able to demostrate basic computer skills in word processing, spreadsheet computing and when creating a digital presentation. They will also know how to use peripheral equipment when preparing for different coursework tasks.

- Physical and social study environment
- Study practices, workshops and studios
- Curricula and planning of studies, learning and study skills
- Student services, for example Student Affairs Office; Student's Union; well-being; library; IT services
- Knowledge related to specific fields of work
- Competence in international affairs
- Word processing, spreadsheet computing, using the Internet and portal, net survey form
- Creating a digital presentation, printing and scanning
